Network Rail - ½ kilometre long scaffold completed
07/02/2006
Alltask have recently completed its scaffold structure which formed part of Network Rail's embankment stabilisation project in Hastings, Sussex.
The project involved Alltask designing and installing (using a Form C design check) over ½ a kilometre of scaffold access designed to support a 9500kg piling rig with extraction forces of up to 60KN on a 30-40 degree gradient no less than 3m from the track.
This force translates into horizontal loads which are contained within the scaffold via the use of ground anchors.
The scaffold also allows personell access along its entire length and, combined with the piling rig platform, is over 5m wide and around 4m high.
The project builds on Alltask’s experience of railway projects and endorses the company’s decision to become Link-Up (Network Rail Approved Scheme) accredited in 1998.
