Regulations determine the requirement that your buildings steel structure requires fire protection, this depends upon differing factors such as use of building, size and the function of the element.

Passive Fire Protection Manager

What is passive Fire Protection and why do you need it?

Passive fire protection is designed to protect elements of structure in the unfortunate event of a fire. There are minimum safety standards laid down within the building regulations to which almost all buildings must adhere, these standards are there to ensure the protection of Life, and not to protect the building. Although insurers may have an influence on the design of the fire safety protection to enhance the minimum standards in order to save the building in the event of a fire. The fire safety regulations require defined periods of stability in the structure and compartmentation measures to ensure secured escape routes and to restrict the spread of smoke & fire.

I have been working in the Passive fire protection industry since 1984, yes that’s 24 years, and counting and have worked on the tools, supervised & managed sites, estimated, surveyed and project managed all aspects of passive fire protection. Throughout my career I have been involved with major projects as diverse as nuclear power stations at Sellafield, the Lloyds building, Wembley Stadium, Wimbledon Lawn Tennis, Canary Wharf, Station refurbishments for London Underground and Heathrow Airports Terminal 5. I consider myself to be knowledgeable in all aspects of fire protection and I can help you with your fire safety needs or answer any technical issues that may be of concern to you on your project, and I personally guarantee I can find the answer to your fire protection problem.
