If you have endangered species living on your site then you have to move them to a safer habitat before construction can start the EU regulations and the UK legislation indicate that there will be fines of up to £5000 per animal if the endangered species are not protected. You can even face up to six months imprisonment.

How can I carry out my Construction with protected species on site?

Firstly you will need to carry out an ecological survey, this will tell you exactly what  reptiles, mammals and fawner is on your site and how it must be protected and how to start the relocation or collection process. In a lot of cases it can be moved say in the case of common lizards by installing reptile fencing, around your site to stop new lizards from setting up home and allow the safe collect and relocate the species.

What is reptile fencing?

Reptile fencing is a small PVC fence used for the separation of a site where reptiles, amphibians and small mammals are present and need separating from the site works. Reptile fencing can be used for the separation, collect, & relocate of most species including great crested newts, slow worms, lizards, snakes and water voles.

Are there different types?

Yes, fencing can be one-way fencing to push the required species away from your site and to a safe location or there is upright fencing which can be used to collect the species safely and relocate them to a safer place. Your ecological survey results will suggest the best solution for the species’ protection.

Is the fencing material recyclable?

Yes all the fencing and posts used in the construction of the fencing is recyclable.

If you are unsure about anything I’ve mentioned above or have further questions you would like answered then don’t hesitate to contact me via any of the means below I’ll be more than happy to help in any way I can.
