612 of you have told us your 3 biggest scaffold problems and here's your answers.
You've told us your 3 biggest problems dealing with scaffolding subbies, and we've got proof we've got them covered.
How do you really feel about your current scaffold provider? As part of our commitment to educating people about scaffolding (and other Alltask Divisional Trades), our CEO - Daniel Fincham - has written a number of Reports that he makes available on the internet and on the Alltask FREE Reports page (they're growing by the week - so make sure you check back regularly!).
Before you download the Report, Danny asks what your biggest scaffolding problem is. It is in fact this information that Danny hopes to capture as it’s crucial for us to tailor our service to your wants. Over 4000 of you have downloaded the Reports, and we show you your top 3 problems below. Now we know these problems, we've tangibly responded by making our scaffold services stronger in these 3 crucial areas of yours.
Your No1 Problem - Levels of Service (i.e. scaffolding not turning up when stated)
The Alltask Solution
Our Supervisory teams start at 6.30am in the offices at Strood, and we have a procedure that no-shows for that day must contact their relevant supervisor before 7.00am. This gives the supervisors - who all share the same desk cluster in Strood - time to re-programme the teams around to cover the shortfall. I use the word shuffle tongue-in-cheek; it gets a whole lot more fiery than that! Never the less, you get want you want - scaffolders on the job.
Your No2 Problem - Scaffolding not conforming to H&S rules
The Alltask Solution
We have 3 full time, directly-employed, NEBOSH Construction Certificate qualified H&S Advisors (1 static, 2 roaming) that oversee all aspects of Alltask's H&S culture and uphold the values established and driven by Daniel Fincham (see his page for his values). These H&S Advisors have monthly Minuted H&S meetings (see Alltask Monthly Safety Meetings) with all the Alltask Divisional Managers, which are chaired by the Daniel Fincham. All Minutes are signed-off by all present as agreed at the following meeting. We believe this tactic of up-stream, surveillance behavioural based system is the way forward in terms of H&S.
Your No3 Problem - No formal scaffolding training
The Alltask Solution
These same Advisors organise the Alltask Induction procedure which includes checking for competency (including checking for evidence of training). They also organise refresher/renewal training, subject to notification from the relevant Divisional Manager. All our training is recorded on the bespoke, purpose-built Alltask WorkSafe Database, which Emails the relevant staff 3-months before expiry of training. Incidentally, we were the Winner of our Trade Association (The National Access & Scaffolding Confederation - NASC) National Safety Award in 2002 for the Alltask WorkSafe Database system.
If there's any other issues causing you sleepless nights, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm sure I can put your mind at rest.
Best Wishes

Scott West
