Before You Let a bunch of different sub- Contractors Loose on Your Site, I'd Like to Share with You my Formula for a Successful Project

You know what its like! You’ve got to somehow get a bunch of contractors onto your site, inducted, adhering to your Site Rules working to your programme and get them to all work together  without looking to blaming each other for not working Safely or completing On Time.

And then, you've got to get them to do all this without affecting any part of your production process; which - after all - is the whole reason you're there.

You need a contractor that understands the whole spectrum of the site specific issues that affect you. After all, you can't simply ignore plimsolled scaffolders and stripped-to-the-waist painters, blatantly ignoring your site rules and exposing your business to risk.

My name is Chris Gunn and I am responsible for the Industrial Services Division here at Alltask.

Your need for us to deliver 100% commitment to the latest safety legislation/best practice, this has motivated me to train all my Supervisors to "IOSH Managing Safely in Construction Certificate" level (we're putting over 40 of our Supervisors company-wide through this training as I type).

Making sure that you continue to get the highest level of safety driven service from me (I already hold the CITB Construction Site Managers Safety Certificate Site Management Safety Training Scheme Course Syllabus and the IOSH Managing Safely in Construction Certificate), I have decided to start my "NEBOSH Construction Certificate" this September.

This is the pukka 16-week, back to college, 1 practical and 2 written exams "biggy". For those of you who arrived here through Danny's Introductory page, you will know that he has the NEBOSH Construction Certificate (as does our Safety Advisor, Geoff Potter)...and he says it's no pushover (which could be the reason why he was the only company owner the college had ever trained).

Over 90% of you do use us again...and again...and again. I'm hugely proud of that repeat customer ratio. This is down to my teams' commitment and a real demonstrated “CAN DO" attitude.  The reason you come back?  Because, you're the reason my division exists...and I NEVER forget it.

Over the years I have sat in meeting after meeting from Outages at Nuclear Power Stations to New Build Production plants and listened again and again to the same excuse for contractors failing to deliver on Safety and Programme,

“We would not have had the accident if your other sub-contractor had ... blah ... blah ... blah"

"We would have finished on time if your other sub-contractor had ... blah ... blah ... blah "

It’s always the same; blame someone else and set your stall out for a big contra charge or pass the buck when the HSE start to ask questions. That's where I'm different. I will discuss your needs with you and manage our services to alleviate the sub-contractor blame game to deliver your project Safely and On-Time.

I am jokingly referred to as "The Loiterer” on one of our major projects, and “always seem to be hanging around the offices” so I'm told.  This is not chance.  It's deliberate. It's because I know you are busy running your project.

Time is your worst enemy and I know it.
