Kings Cross Station Upgrade
Kings Cross, London
2013 - 2016
Alltask were contracted for the scaffold works by J. Murphy and planned, erected and dismantled a vast array of structures during the upgrade of this iconic station during night time posessions as part of a six year project. Access was required for restoration of arches, facades and for the creation of the 7000 m2 public plaza. The management of high volumes of public footfall was a critical factor in all of our access designs.
Before Work commenced a Cat 3 check, Forms 002/003 Spec designs were produced for Network Rail and London Underground for approval. Once underway our ICI-LU certified operatives erected HAKI system scaffolds and traditional tube and fitting scaffolds for optimum access. Mayor Boris Johnson ceremoniously opened the restored station to the public with the revealing of the brick exterior, which had been hidden for 150 years.
