Laing O'Rourke

Royal Sussex County Hospital

2016 - 2025

Project Overview:

After an initial period of design engagement Laing O’Rourke contracted Alltask to provide access for the 3Ts Redevelopment of the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. This £500M project demands the hospital stays open throughout. Alltasks scope of works includes ground level protection scaffolds on North & South sides of the building, various internal scaffolds and the access needed to construct the TKT helipad.

Structures are made up from not only traditional tube and fitting but our design team also use HAKI staircases and a Layher beam system on this project. Technical aspects for the helipad involve using a cantilevered scaffold system, hanging structures from the existing building plus the construction of combisafe fans at height to provide a safe working environment at ground level.
