Contaminated Land Remediation
During the £10 million redevelopment of Burton Road to build 51 new residential homes a ground survey revealed Asbestos contaminants in the soil. Excavation to a depth of 600mm across the site was necessary to remove contamination. Alltask deployed an experienced asbestos supervisor and trained machine operators to grade the soil in 100mm increments whilst visually checking all excavated soil along the way.
Contaminated land excavations historically pose a difficulty in combining machine operators and asbestos operative’s working in close proximity of each other. Alltask job specific plan of works outlined and reduced all potential risks by asbestos training all ground workers then air testing periodically during all excavations to monitor the potential of any airborne fibres.
