Mayflower Theatre Asbestos Removal
Alltask were commissioned by the Mayflower trust to carry out a full decontamination and encapsulation of the plenum air ventilation chamber at their 1928 grade II listed theatre in Southampton. The theatre was to remain open at all times so a comprehensive schedule of works was put in place and to combat noise pollution an acoustic box was built over the negative pressure units.
Alltask’s confined space trained asbestos removal operatives then undertook a full decontamination of the chamber within a negative pressure enclosure. Once decontamination was complete all surfaces were then encapsulated with a curing membrane. All works were complete with no interruption to rehearsals or performances.
