Temporary Pedestrian Footbridge
Twickenham Railway Station
2017 - Ongoing

Project Overview:
Alltask were asked to design and build a twin span pedestrian footbridge at Twickenham Station as part of the £65 million transformation of Twickenham, which includes a new public plaza and 115 new homes. To enable demolition and construction of a new footbridge Alltask designed, erected and installed a twin span HAKI bridge system to maintain current pedestrian access to the platforms.
The footbridge was erected by 40 operatives in a single Bank Holiday weekend, 52 hour possession. Our in-house design team proposed that we erect edge protection scaffolds and installed acoustic HAKI clad scaffold screens to keep the workforce safe and disturbance to residents at a minimum. Alltask provided access to the site itself and the welfare facilities for operatives by erecting a 22m long beam bridge over the current temporary ticket office.
