National Apprenticeship Week proved to be one of our busiest—and most rewarding—periods of school engagement in recent years. Across four packed days, Jim Scott, Head of Trainee Recruitment & Development connected with hundreds of students, parents, and educators, raising awareness of the rewarding career pathways available at Alltask Limited. From scaffolding and thermal insulation to asbestos management, our focus was on showcasing real opportunities and inspiring young people as they consider their future beyond education.
The Howard School Careers Fair, Gillingham
We kicked off the week speaking with more than 1,000 students from Years 7 to 13 at a whole‑school careers fair. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the students made for a fantastic day of meaningful conversations. A special thank you to The Howard School for organising the event and inviting us to take part.
Holmesdale School Careers Fair, Snodland
Our first-ever visit to Holmesdale School gave us the opportunity to introduce students to the wide range of apprenticeships and career pathways within Alltask. It was encouraging to see such strong interest from both students and staff. We were also pleased to reconnect with our friends from Southern Renewals Enterprise, who sponsor the school. Thank you for the warm welcome and excellent organisation.
North Kent Apprenticeship Event, Dartford
Hosted at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy, this event allowed us to engage not only with students during the school day but also with parents and members of the public during the evening session. Many parents expressed genuine interest in apprenticeship routes for their children, giving us the chance to challenge misconceptions—particularly around scaffolding—and highlight the genuine career progression available, from Trainee to Director. Our thanks go to the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation for coordinating such a successful event.
Futures Workshop, Brompton Academy, Gillingham
We ended the week delivering a workshop to Year 9 students as they prepare to make crucial decisions about their GCSE options. The session focused on essential skills and behaviours that support success within our industry, and we were impressed by the engagement and maturity of the students who took part. A huge thank you to Brompton Academy for bringing together employers for this innovative new initiative.
