Alltask continues to support the refurbishment of the roof and glass canopy at Fulham Broadway Station through the provision of specialist access scaffolding. Following the successful installation of the bespoke beamed access scaffold system, works have now progressed into the next phase of the project, providing safe access for glazing replacement works across the station canopy.
Working within a live London Underground environment requires careful planning, close collaboration and a strong focus on safety. The station remains fully operational throughout the programme, with all access solutions designed to minimise disruption to passengers and services while enabling contractors to safely access the roof structure above.
The scaffold arrangement includes a bridged crash deck spanning above the platforms together with phased access scaffolding, allowing works to progress safely across the length of the canopy. This specialist solution supports the ongoing replacement and refurbishment of the station’s glazing and roof structure whilst maintaining clear platform space below.
A strong emphasis on coordination, sequencing and collaborative working continues to be key to the successful delivery of the project. Working alongside Cleshar and Prime Scaffold and Structural Designs Limited (PSD), the access solution is helping to facilitate the safe refurbishment of the station canopy, supporting improved longevity, performance and the overall station environment for passengers.
A great example of teamwork, specialist access expertise, and collaborative delivery within a live rail setting.
