Project Mint

SG contracted Alltask to provide access solutions for £69 million Project Mint at the iconic O2 Arena.

The O2 is a popular music, entertainment, and leisure venue visited by millions since its opening in 2007. Before enjoying the entertainment arena, the venue wanted to create a space for people to shop, eat and
enjoy.

The main construction work involved connecting the outer circle surrounding the arena to the remainder of the structure, adding a state-of-the-art shopping centre.

The works involved constructing a new designer outlet, a casino and refurbishing the existing cinema complex and retail units.

Alltask’s involvement in the project consisted of enabling works by providing temporary footbridges, staircases, and a cable support bridge system to allow site access to operatives.

As the project progressed, we provided continued access solutions for demolition works which included brick, blockwork, and escalator installations. Dust screens to protect the current merchandise and ticket offices utilised encapsulated scaffolding as a turnkey solution.

Key features on some of the structures included loading platforms, a heavy duty hoist gantry system, and protective scaffolds for the public.

I just wanted to say how delighted we have been to have Matt on Project Mint over the past 18 months.  He often went well beyond the call of duty to help me both personally and ISG as a company.  Certainly one of the best managers/supervisors for any trades I have had the privilege to work with.

Credit must also go the rest of the guys; all of them very well spirited and hardworking throughout the project, not to mention excellent at maintaining 5 point PPE at all times where other trades were slightly more fluid.
